Well stated DAC. It seems to have happened so suddenly, this politics over science thing, but that's probably not true.
People have been fighting facts for as long as we have existed.
Remember the flat world? Explain, explain, explain and it falls on deaf ears or unwilling minds.
My poetry book is out DAC, and stories will be in about a week. I'm walking around with nothing to do. Guess I need to go to OCAF and get busy writing again.
Really enjoyed The Hand of . . . ok, can't remember her name, I'm 85, so it's my privilege to forget sometimes and admit it. But I remember that I liked the book.

Got to say this again and often. Science (true) and politics don't mix. Can also think of a few others that are suffering from too much politics.
Love this quote from Daniel P. Monahan. "You are entitled to your own opinion, but not to your own facts." Doing that from memory and may not have gotten it exact.

You said it so well.

It always drives me crazy when someone says, "I don't believe in science." Since when is science a religion? My students thought I was so mean when I'd ask them for their thoughts on a scientific article and they would begin by saying, "I feel," and I would interrupt by telling them, "I don't care how you feel. I want to know what you think."

Thanks for sharing your wisdom & thoughts
on global climate change . What needs to happen to get attention to this problem ???
I do not belong to a tribe - never have. May
your health problems continue to improve .
May we remain hopeful.
